About Me
Hi, I’m Jessica Aston, LCSW. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut providing virtual therapy to teens and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and motivation struggles. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can exhale — where you feel understood, supported, and gently challenged toward growth.
My Approach to Therapy
What began as a calling to support others has grown into a deeply intentional practice. I’m proud of the clinical foundation I’ve built and even more committed to the work that lies ahead. What sets my approach apart isn’t just the tools I use — it’s the care and thoughtfulness behind them.
Therapy with me is not rushed or surface-level. We take time to understand your story, explore patterns with curiosity, and move toward change with purpose. Every session is guided by intention — creating space for insight, growth, and meaningful transformation at your pace.
Simple skill building
Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
Lasting impact
We build with clarity, act with integrity, and always stay curious.
Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose.
My therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I work from a strengths-based lens, helping you identify what’s already working in your life while building tools to support meaningful change.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you reconnect with your values and build psychological flexibility
Mindfulness-based strategies to strengthen emotional regulation and present-moment awareness
Elements of positive psychology to build resilience and self-confidence
While these modalities guide my work, therapy with me is never one-size-fits-all. I tailor our sessions to your goals, your pace, and your lived experience.
What Our Work Together Will Look Like
In our sessions, you can expect a balance of validation and forward movement. We’ll explore patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, or feeling stuck — and we’ll actively build tools to help you respond differently.
You won’t just talk about your week; we’ll work toward clarity, confidence, and sustainable change. Together, we’ll:
Identify your therapeutic goals
Develop coping and emotional regulation skills
Strengthen self-awareness
Clarify your values and direction
Build a more grounded, resilient version of you
My hope is that you leave therapy feeling empowered — not dependent — with practical skills and a deeper understanding of yourself.
Meaningful growth starts now
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel big — and it is. Scheduling a consultation is an opportunity for us to connect, explore what’s bringing you in, and begin envisioning the meaningful changes you want to make. Together, we can identify the patterns holding you back, build practical tools for growth, and take impactful steps toward a life that feels more grounded, confident, and aligned with who you truly are.
